Orionid (green trail) and the Orion's belt with M42 (Orion Nebula), by AstroGuigeek |

⇒ This year, the Orionid's peak is expected to occur between the 20 and 21 october with a maximum frequency of 20 meteors an hour ! The sky will be surprisingly clear because the moon is getting darker (almost new moon).
⇒ It is thanks to the Halley's comet that this show occur every year. The trajectory of the comet is cut 2 times by the Earth, giving the chance to get 2 meteor shower : Eta Aquarids on May, and Orionids on October.
How to watch them ?
⇒ Orionids meteors seem to leave a fictive point called radiant : it is actually located between the Orion constellation and the one of Gemini. Orionids are often easily visible thanks to their low speed and sometimes bright luminosity.
Go outdoor !
